In March and April John and I had a fabulous holiday in Singapore and travelling around Australia.

When we were in Sydney we caught the ferry to Manly Bay and Watsons Bay.

Manly Bay

The ferry takes 30 minutes to get to Manly.

There are ocean beaches for the surfers, but John and I headed for the harbour beach.

The water and sand are remarkably clean.

Swimming at Manly Bay, Australia

We were in the area protected by special shark nets, but lots of smaller fish were happily swimming amongst us.

Watsons Bay

is a lovely fishing village a short ferry journey from Circular Quay.

We walked along the headland (past the nudist beach!) to the lighthouse.

From here we could look back to the city and out to the ocean.

Then we went back to the wharf for a "schooner" and a "pot" of the local lager
