Whilst on holiday in the Loire Valley we went to the
pretty little village of Azay-le-Rideau, which is in between Tours
and Chinon.

We strolled around the village and spent a leisurely lunch sampling a bottle
of Azay-le-Rideau wine.
Then we visited the chateau on its own small island in the middle of the
Indre River. The setting is really beautiful, making it one of the
loveliest chateaux in the region .

To enter the chateau you have to cross the bridge over the river.

It's like stepping into a fairy tale when you
see this chateau with its pointed towers and Renaissance style. |

The park is also very scenic, but our eyes were just naturally drawn to the
amazing views of the chateau.

It's definitely worth a visit and it's not bad inside either!
