We enjoyed a short break between Christmas and New Year in Yvelines located south west of Paris, France. We visited the beautiful chateau of Dampierre-en-Yvelines and the historic town of Chevreuse.
We also dined at some fabulous restaurants.
Dampierre-en-Yvelines
The chateau at Dampierre-en-Yvelines dates from the 17th century has been recently restored. The landscaped grounds lead visitors through beautiful gardens and around the picturesque lake.

We stayed at the Auberge du Chateau opposite the chateau in the Dampierre village.

Chevreuse
is a historic pretty town with winding cobbled streets overlooked by the medieval Chateau de la Madeleine.
We had lunch in a traditional creperie accompanied with the customary bowl of cider.
