Edinburgh

We walked along Princess Street with the Castle towering above us.

Then we wandered through the lovely Princess Street Gardens.

At the other end of the Royal Mile is Arthur's Seat situated in Holyrood Park.

Nearby is the Holyrood Abbey

We also visited Our Dynamic Earth, where we were taken on a very interesting and interactive journey exploring volcanoes, tropical rainforests and polar ice caps.

Alan's Party

Then we stayed in Heriot for the birthday party.

Everyone was camping in the garden.

However some tents were rather more difficult to erect than others!

Eventually the job was done and it was time to head off and enjoy the party at the village hall.

Music was provided by the very entertaining band, Alleschwindel, with their unusual electro/caberet style!

Soon people were dancing

while others were content to sit back and soak up the atmosphere.
