In July John and spent three weeks on holiday in Canada. We travelled to Quebec City before heading down to
Ottawa. From there we
visited family in Trenton, Cobourg and
Toronto and then we visited Niagara Falls
and spent our final couple of days in
Montreal prior to our flight home.
Quebec City
The old city overlooks the St Lawrence river and is a UNESCO world heritage site.

We enjoyed exploring the tiny cobblestone streets around the Chateau Frontenac.

Montmorency Falls
This waterfall is located a few miles east of Quebec City.

We walked across the suspension bridge and along the trails around the park.

Sainte Anne de Beaupre
Near Quebec City stands the impressive medieval-style basilica built in the 1920s.

Ottawa
Canada's capital city.
.

Parliament Hill looks very similar to London's Westminster.

The Rideau Canal.

Trenton & Cobourg

Trenton's waterfront.

We had fun meeting family and learning about the Ontario wines.

The marina at Cobourg.

Toronto

The CN Tower is 553m high and offers amazing views from the top.
Niagara Falls

The Canadian Horseshoe Falls are 670m wide and 57m high.

Looking over the border to the smaller American Falls.

At night the falls and the town are lit in a rainbow of colours.

Montreal

Our last day of the holiday was spent on a relaxing boat trip on the
Saint Lawrence river before enjoying a final evening on a rooftop terrace bar overlooking
old Montreal.
