We took the Eurostar from Paris to Brussels, Belgium for a weekend break in May. We also dined at some fabulous restaurants.

Brussels

We stayed near the Galeries Royales St Hubert. Built in 1847 these elegant arcades house luxury shops and restaurants.

The Grand Place is the main market square and is a UNESCO heritage site. Historical and cultural events have been taking place here since the middle ages.

The Gothic Hotel de Ville, City Hall is the most famous landmark and dates from the 15th century.

The building L'Arbre D'or , The Golden Tree is still owned by a guild, the Brewers. It now houses a small Belgian Brewers Museum. The statue is of 18th century Charles of Lorraine on horseback.

La Chaloupe d'Or, The Golden Boat is a the former tailor's guild house. This ornate baroque styled building is now a bustling cafe.

There are many chocolate shops all showcasing displays of edible masterpieces.

Brussels is also famous for its beers. I spotted this attractive display of candles.

There are numerous excellent restaurants in Brussels.
