In June John took part in the Auld Alliance golf competition at Crécy-la-Chapelle
on the outskirts of Paris. After the day on the golf course there was a
party where everyone enjoyed a lovely dinner, a charity raffle and
music and dancing. Le Domaine de la Brie golf course is in a lovely setting.

We stayed
overnight and there's even an swimming pool.
Golf
Before the start of the competition John practised putting.

The Scottish flag was specially erected for the tournament.
Soon it was time to tee-off.

As John's official caddy I enjoyed a nice walk around the course.
Party
Whilst the golfers were out playing lamb was being specially roasted
for the evening festivities.

Later the (tanned) golfers
returned and everyone settled down for dinner. |

Roast lamb, roasties and haricot verts. Delicious!
Prizes
During the evening a charity raffle took place and we were amongst the lucky
winners.

|
 |
I won some elegant wine glasses.
|
John won a Guinness coat. |

|
 |
Whisky winners Dick and Gareth. |
Music
Paddy Sherlock and the Swingin' Lovers provided the entertainment.

Max and John got close,

whilst Dick and Gareth just sat back and listened to the band.
A great time was had by all. Hope to see you at the next Auld Alliance
golf day.
See the photos from other parties and pub events we've
recently attended.
