We went to the Bristol Hot Air Balloon Festival,
balloons of all shapes and sizes
Winchester
Winchester Cathedral has the longest nave in England. It is over 160 m long.
Jane Austen is buried in the cathedral. She died aged 41 in 1817.
The Great Hall, a medieval hall
The Round Table originates from the 13th or 14th century and was originally a
standing table with 12 outer legs. Now it hangs on the wall.

Durdle Door
On the Jurassic Coast world heritage site stands the famous limestone rock arch,
Durdle Door.
Stonehenge
Near Salisbury the famous prehistoric monument, Stonehenge can be clearly seen from the road.
Neolithic houses at the Stonehenge visitor centre
The building of the site began approximately in 3000 BC with the famous standing
stones raised around 2500 BC.
The temple is aligned on the movements of the sun and every year thousands
gather here to mark the summer solstice.
It is the only surviving lintelled stone circle in the world. Some of the stones
were brought from the Preseli Hills in Wales over 150 miles away.
Salisbury
An original copy of King John's Magna Carta is displayed at Salisbury Cathedral.
In 2015 it celebrated its 800th anniversary.
Effigies of Sir Richard Mompesson and his wife Katherine on their tomb.
The spire is the tallest in England with a height of 123m.

College of Matrons almshouse founded in the 17th century.
Bath
The historic Pulteney Bridge lined with shops is similar to the Ponte Vecchio
in Florence.
