We spent the Easter weekend at Ploumanach on the northern Brittany coast. The pink granite coastline is very dramatic with plenty of headland paths to explore and we visited several picturesque ports and beaches around the Côtes-d'Armor.

We arrived with our friend, Phil at lunchtime, so we enjoyed some traditional seaside fare including fish soup and moules marinières with chips.

The headland paths winded through some gorgeous woodland and the bluebells were out in full force.

We even ventured into the English Channel for a brief time

and we always like to fit in some frisbee practice whenever we visit the seaside.

Exploring the Côtes-d'Armor

Driving along the surrounding coast roads we discovered some stunning fishing villages and ports.

Sillon de Talbert juts out into the English Channel

The Sillon de Talbert is a 3km long sandy spit jutting out to sea.

John once again can't resist climbing the tallest rocks at the Sillon de Talbert

 

Treguier overlooks the estuary harbour.

 

 

Tréguier is a medieval town with a busy harbour.

The tide was out when we visited the wide sandy beach at Plestin-les-Greves and the sudden appearance of a sea mist evoked a real smugglers cove atmosphere from centuries ago.
