In June John and I spent a lovely weekend in the south of France in Nimes and we visited the famous Pont du Gard. We also discovered a wonderful restaurant.

Nimes

Nimes is full of Roman monuments and in the centre there is a very well preserved Roman arena.  It was built in the 1st century AD and is currently used for concerts and bull fights.
