John and I enjoyed an Autumn break in Beaune, Burgundy. We visited the Hospice de Beaune, enjoyed strolling around the historic town centre and went on a tour of the wine region.

This museum was founded in the 15th century as a hospital for the poor.

In the centre of the courtyard there is a well with gothic ironwork.

Inside is a ward furnished with beds and at the far end there is a chapel.

Beaune Town Centre

Les Halles market, Beaune, Burgundy

The covered market, Les Halles is close to the Hospice de Beaune. On Saturdays the market overflows into the surrounding busy narrow streets.
